Trip to Boston Eventful

Thursday evening, September 4th, saw the first of the 2007/2008 Combined Rotary After Hours. Four clubs - Marblehead, Marblehead Harbor, Swampscott and Salem, all came together for a fun evening on the Ferry into Boston. The seas were a little rough, which made the going a little uneasy for some, but fun for others as we rocked and rolled our way into town. One of the highlights of the evening was an hors doerve competition with the four clubs competiting for the coveted "Golden Whisk" award. This year's award (the first ever awarded) went to Margo Steiner of the Marblehead Harbor Club. Look for a cookbook in the months ahead featuring the delightful recipes of the evening. In addition the Marblehead club was presented with the Duct Tape Trophy. The team won in record time in the design of member Dieter Empacher and builder Carl Siegal - both of whom accepted the award on behalf of the Club.
