Last week, Nancy Gwin welcomed and passed the gavel to Rotary's new president, Don Dowling, the event accompanied by a celebration of a great year. After swearing in new board members and officers, Alexander Falk, the District Governor, presented the year's Paul Harris Fellow recipients. But it was a Nancy Gwin moment in the jam-packed room exchanging hugs and
congratulations
for a memory-making year that Nancy ushered in.
Read what Rotarians say about Nancy's presidency:
- "Nancy seized every opportunity to make a difference; she picked up the ball and ran with it." - Corine Barone
- "It was a year of breathtaking activities touching every aspect of our mission." - Ellen Winkler
- "Nancy is like the hub connecting all the spokes to make the wheel run smoothly and efficiently." - David Deutsch
- "She was the glue to connecting us to other clubs, town stakeholders, civic volunteers, including veteran organizations here in Marblehead." - Linda Sullivan
- "When there was a need, and there were many, she provided a seed in assistance." - Arthur Schwartz
- "Elderact, Interact, and Seaglass Village community clubs, from seniors to juniors here and abroad, have received recognition and solidarity from Marblehead Rotary." - Marsha Christensen.
- "There was a kind of advocacy that was relentless and unshakeable in Nancy." - Rosie Segil
Bookending her year was a towering town clock gift to the town of Marblehead to commemorate Marblehead Rotary's 100th anniversary planted in downtown Pleasant Street. This legacy will live in posterity for years to come. #allmarblehead #MarbleheadCurrent #marbleheadrotary #marbleheadcommunity #district7930 is #ImagineRotary I #marbleheadharbor #townofmarblehead #marbleheadscholarships #ServiceBeforeSelf
